  • Can I keep my current network contract?

    Yes, absolutely. All UK mobile providers must allow you to transfer (or “port in”) a new number. Your existing contract, tariff, and terms remain completely unchanged.

  • Will my old number be lost?

    Yes. Your old number will be replaced by your new Gold Coast Sims number and returned to the original network.

  • Does this affect my contract renewal or credit checks?

    No. Changing your number has no contractual or financial consequences. It does not force you to renew, extend, or update your agreement. There are no credit checks.

  • Do I have to change my SIM card?

    No. You can keep the SIM card currently in your phone. We provide a PAC code *  to your network, which swaps the number on your existing SIM.

  • Will my network charge me a fee?

    No. We are unaware of any UK mobile provider that charges a customer to port a new number onto their account.

*The PAC Code & Transfer Process

  • What is a PAC code?

    A Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) is a unique, one-time code that facilitates the transfer of the number to your chosen network/account. The two networks talk to each other and handle all the technical details.

  • How long does the PAC code last?

    30 days before it expires. It must be used within that period, or a new one will have to be ordered after. It is unique and can only be used once

  • How long does the number transfer take?

    The transfer typically takes 1 to 2 working days, and in many cases, it is completed by the next working day if submitted to your network by 1700 hrs.

  • Can I choose the transfer date?

    Yes. You can instruct your network to complete the transfer on the next working day, or any date that suits you within the 30-day PAC code window.

  • How do I start the transfer?

    Once you have bought your new number, we can provide you with the PAC and you simply give that the Pac and your new number to your current network’s customer services and that’s it! They handle everything. (Submit the PAC by calling customer service, online form / in app, or even in-store).

Buying a New SIM (Clean Start)

If you want a brand-new number on a brand-new SIM card with no commitment, this is your option.

  • Can you supply the number on a new SIM?

    Yes. We can supply your Gold Number on a new, non-contract, Pay As You Go (PAYG) SIM card of your choice. This requires no credit checks.

  • Can you supply any network?

    Yes. We can supply your new number on any major UK mobile provider and can help you choose the most suitable network and options for your needs.

  • What SIM card size will I receive?

    All SIMs provided are “Tri-SIMs,” meaning they will fit any phone (Standard, Micro, or Nano).

  • Will the new SIM be ready to use?

    Yes. The number will be tested and ready to go immediately. We can also top up the SIM with credit before dispatch, charging you only the amount topped up.

  • Can I run two numbers at once?

    Yes. If you have a Dual SIM compatible phone, you can easily run your old personal number and your new business/memorable number simultaneously, even if they are on different networks.
